Short film workshop 7 April postEntries are open for the popular Short Film Program at the 2016 Briagolong Film Festival. Even better, the Film Festival Committee is offering two unique workshops with professional documentary and short-film producers, Drift Media.

Bookings are essential for the first Getting Started: Tips & Tricks workshop, next Thursday 7 April  10am to 1pm at Briagolong’s Community House, alongside the Mechanics’ Institute, Avon Street.  BYO device – although there will be some extra iPads for you to try.

Highly experienced Mick Green will be giving us some valuable Tips & Tricks as well as advice on finding an idea, basic storyboards to help develop your idea into a script and shooting plan. He’ll also talk about sound and lighting – even with very low-budget constraints.

The second workshop will be held in mid-May and will be all about Editing and Production – how to take your raw footage and Tips & Tricks of editing it into a tight, compelling story, and then uploading with the right formats.

We are simplifying things this year by providing a Vimeo channel for the short films to be uploaded onto – more on that in workshop No 2.  There will be takeaway handouts so you don’t have to try to remember everything at home!

Book by email to: briagfilmfest@gmail.com.  But hurry, because places will be limited to 20 participants, aged 12 or over. A younger child may accompany a paying adult.  The workshop costs just $15 each, for a 3-hour session normally worth $90.
